Over the next few months, I will run through the Top 50 matches in Wrestle Mania history (in my humble opinion) as the 29th edition of the event takes place on Apr. 7, live from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Today, we look at the match that comes in at No. 9.
#9, Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho—Wrestle Mania 19 (2003)—Seattle, Washington

To me, this bout was nothing more than a ‘dream match’ until HBK returned to in ring action in the summer of 2002. With that said, this was Michaels’ first ‘Mania match since 1998 (when lost to Steve Austin) while Jericho was the defending WWE Undisputed World Champion the year before at ‘Mania (as he lost to Triple H). While the match started off a bit slow, the second half of the bout had a number of near falls and was amazing in my eyes. HBK picks up the pin fall win, leading to Jericho getting emotional and actually hugging HBK. After the hug, Jericho kicked HBK in the groin area.
