Over the next few months, I will run through the Top 50 matches in Wrestle Mania history (in my humble opinion) as the 29th edition of the event takes place on Apr. 7, live from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Today, we look at the match that comes in at No. 39
#39, World Heavyweight Champion Batista vs. The Undertaker—Wrestle Mania 23 (2007)—Detroit, Michigan
(Ranked the second best match from Wrestle Mania 23)
Coming off winning the 2007 Royal Rumble, The Undertaker got to choose which championship he would go after. He chose Batista and the WHC over John Cena (WWE Champion) and Bobby Lashley (ECW Champion) and we were off to a very entertaining feud. Batista looked to have The Undertaker beat a few times, including after a power slam through the announce table. In the end, Taker scored the pin, winning the World Title for the first time since 2002 and moving ‘The Streak’ to 15-0.
