Over the next few months, I will run through the Top 50 matches in Wrestle Mania history (in my humble opinion) as the 29th edition of the event takes place on Apr. 7, live from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Today, we look at the match that comes in at No. 20.
#20, Ric Flair vs. Shawn Michaels in a Career Threatening match —Wrestle Mania 24 (2008)—Orlando, Florida

This match lost some of its staying power once Flair decided to wrestle again. However, in the moment, it was a very emotional and entertaining story and bout. We all knew Flair was going to lose but he and HBK unfolded the drama to a tee. Michaels took a sick bump when he attempted a moonsault from the top rope, crashing into the announce table (injuring his ribs). The match concluded with Michaels mouthing “I’m sorry, I love you’ before delivering Sweet Chin Music for the win, ending Flair’s WWE in ring career.
