The Greater Bay Area Costumer's Guild, is a non-profit organization made up of people who share an interest in recreational costuming. Located in the San Francisco Bay Area, it offers a huge array of costume-themed events and classes, and often partner with sister organizations in the area such as Art Deco Society of California (ADSC), Bay Area English Regency Society (BAERS), Costumer's Guild West (CGW), Period Events & Entertainments Re-Creation Society (PEERS), and Somewhere in Time, Unlimited (SITU). They are a wonderful way to introduce yourself to the broad selection of costumed events that we have available to enjoy.

This weekend, the GBACG is launching its new lecture series. Sunday, June 29th, the first lecture will be from Kendra Van Cleave, author of the new book, "18th Century Hair & Wig Styling: History & Step-by-Step Techniques." Kendra has been costuming for 15 years, and holds a master's degree in History and Librarianship, and is on the board of the Costume Society of America's Western Region. She's a wonderful resource for your historical costuming needs. There is plenty of parking in the back of the venue, and drinks and cocktails will be offered at a cash bar. This promises to be a wonderful afternoon, and a valuable lecture series. Historic costumers, as well as vintage costumers, whose hearts still beat for Adam Ant, will find this a wonderful time.
