Great Wolf Lodge opens in New England

Fitchburg - Watch out CoCo Key, there is a new water playground in town. Great Wolf Lodge has opened in Fichburg to the delight of parents across New England. The mega resort houses a 84-degree indoor water park with over 68,000 square feet of water-packed excitement. The Lodge also offers a variety of hotel rooms geared for kids -- but be sure to book early if you want to snag a Saturday night. Rooms are booking up quick.

But even if you don't like to splash around, Great Wolf has you covered with water-free activities too. The brand new Howlin’ Timbers Play Park offers a multi-level ropes course, mini golf, bowling, and more. MagiQuest is another fun arcade room for kids. Scooops Kid® Spa is a place to unwind, with ice-cream themed manicures and spa services geared for children. Before bed, the whole family can swing by the Grand Lobby for nightly Story Time by the fireplace – the perfect end to the day.

The resort is located about an hour away from the Boston area. If the kids' need a water break, there are other attractions in the area that offer family fun -- including the Fitchburg Art Museum, Stratton Players Theater, Gillette Stadium, Jumptown Skydiving and the Templewood Golf Course. Take RI-146 N toward US-44/Woonsocket/State Offices, continue on MA146 N/Worcester-Providence Turnpike, follow signs for 1-290 E/Shrewsbury/Marlboro and merge onto 1-290 E. Then take exit 19-20 for Burncoat St/I-190 N toward MA-70/Lincoln St/MA-12/Holden/Fitchburg. Rt1-190 N becomes Rt-2 W/George Stanton Hwy. Take exit 28 Rt-31 S toward Princeton/Holden. Turn left on Rt-31 S/Princeton Rd. Turn right onto Great Wolf Drive.

Take I-93 N toward Concord NH. Merge onto I-495 S exit 44B toward Lowell. Merge onto Rt-2 W exit 29B toward Leominster. Take exit 28 for MA-31 S, turn left onto Princeton Rd, and right onto Great Wolf Drive.
