Labor Day weekend is often considered to be the last "horrah" of summer, and many families typically hit the beach. However several great white Sharks hanging off of the beaches in Cape Cod have closed the beaches for the Labor Day weekend.
Four great white sharks were sighted off of Monomoy Island in the Atlantic Ocean. Biologists report that these sharks are between 8 and 10 feet long.
Biologists have tagged two of the sharks with tracking devices and hope to use this opportunity to learn more about great white shark behavior and migratory patterns.
