This Friday night at Smith’s Olde Bar Nashville’s Great Peacock (GP) is set to deliver a night of tunes like no other. Their popularity has skyrocketed over the last couple of years making them one of the hottest bands in the Southeast. With a self titled EP in many folks' rotation they have been holed away putting the finishing touches on a new record and are now headed back out to do what they do best, play live.
Built around the vocal harmonies of Blount Floyd and Andrew Nelson, GP mixes smooth Southern soul, a bit of country twang and dash of rock to create a sound that is quite original yet oh so familiar. Their music can be cranked loud and jammed to or turned down low for an easy afternoon in a hammock. The songs take on lives of their own as GP tells life tales using Southern imagery to bolster the already strong music. When they play live it magical because the songs become even stronger when you see the energy and love put into their music.
So if you know what is good for you then plan on getting your ass out to Smith’s Olde Bar for a night of music like no other. Be sure to get there early so you don’t miss Cute Boots and Book Club.
