Great Lakes Theater announces auditions for Actors/Teachers

The Great Lakes Theater (GLT) has announced auditions for non-Equity actors/teachers in order to fill spots in its School Residency Program for the 2014-2015 school year. The positions are full-time, seasonal, paid positions open to all cultural backgrounds and will run from August/September, 2014 through May, 2015.

In order to be considered, the following requirements must be fulfilled: an undergraduate degree in any discipline as well as previous stage experience or actor training. Although not required, previous teaching experience or prior work with elementary, junior high or high school age students is a plus.

For the audition, applicants are asked to prepare one Shakespearean monologue and one contrasting contemporary monologue. The combined time for each monologue should not exceed three minutes.

The deadline for audition appointments is Friday, May 9, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. Auditions will take place on Monday May 12, 2014. Callbacks will take place on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 and are by invitation only. Great Lakes Theater is an equal opportunity employer.
