"Great Gatsby" is being performed by Sacramento Ballet

The Great Gatsby which was written by F. Scott Fitzgerald will be performed as a ballet by Sacramento Ballet Company. They will be performing it February 7-10, 2013.

This story was written about the "Roaring Twenties" during prohibition and high living by the "new rich". The turn of the Nineteenth century brought about new technology such as cars and electricity. It also included great wealth, overnight for a few and alot of need for alcohol in Puritan America which decided to prohibit the sale and production of alcohol.

There have been several movies made, one with Robert Redford and the other with Leonardo Di Caprio. This will be a ballet production by a professional city ballet company. This is about the Jazz era and should be fun to watch as the dancers show off thier technique adapted to another style.
