Sharpen the scissors and prepare the hair gel because the New York Institute of Beauty is hosting a “Great Gatsby” beauty competition and gala to benefit Autism Awareness, complete with finger waves and bob hairstyles.
On Friday, October 25 from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m., a “Great Gatsby” inspired beauty contest will be held at Chateau La Mer in Lindenhurst. The New York Institute of Beauty and the Long Island Beauty School designed this annual contest in makeup artistry, hair design and nail fashion to support and raise money for Team Jack-Autism. Trophies and cash prizes such as tuition for makeup classes, makeup and hair care products will be presented to the winners in each of the categories.
This year’s theme for the New York Beauty Gala is “The Great Gatsby” and attendees are encouraged to appear in their finest roaring twenties attire.
Tickets to attend “The Great Gatsby” beauty event are $60 and include cocktail hour, buffet dinner, dessert, cash bar, raffles and a 50/50 drawing with celebrity guest judge, Drag Super Star Xtah C Extrodinaire. The goal for the New York beauty Institute of Beauty is to raise $10,000 for Autism Awareness.
