Don't laugh: window shopping is a great way to learn about another person's values, tastes, and personality. Fortunately, Kansas City is home to one of the greatest window shopping venues, Nebraska Furniture Mart--window shopping does not cost a cent, but if you do decide to make it your New Year's Resolution to help stimulate the economy, NFM is a great place to start in that it is inexpensive to shop there.
As alluded to on their website, NFM was started, appropriately enough, in Nebraska in 1937, and opened relatively recently in Kansas City. NFM is unique when compared to other major stores in that it houses a coffee shop, sandwich cafe, as well as a plethora of home and electronic items to cater to every taste.
Hours can be spent perusing the merchandise available, and conversations will inevitably be elicited by the wide array of products and quanities of people. For more information, check out the Nebraska Furniture Mart (Kansas City) website here.
