There were a couple of big band announcements this past week. Orlando band SoulSwitch introduced their new drummer, Chris Esquivel and Ambertone just announced a one time only reunion show for August at House of Blues.

There are two Orlando bands with Kickstarters running this week, Ancient Sun and Stiletto Red. Ancient Sun is hoping to raise $6000 By August 1 to fund their new album. Stiletto Red still has a way to go before hitting their goal and only have until July 11 to do it.

More Than You Can Bear is having a CD release show Thursday at Bombshell’s Tavern for “Aliases.” Also on the bill for this show is The Bunny The Bear, I, Omega, Exotype, Fight Fall and Blacklite.

There is a fundraising event at Fish On Fire on Thursday. The event is to raise funds for Professor Les who is battling cancer. There will be raffles and an auction as well as an open mic jam session hosted by Band on Fire.

As always, there are some great choices this coming week, July 7-13 in Orlando. Make a point to head out to a few shows and support local music.

Monday, July 7

Will’s Pub - 1042 N. Mills Ave. - Jackson Rodgers hosts a night of acts altogether new to Will’s Pub including the Fei Brothers, Henry Toland, Patrick Hagerman and Michael Fabrizio as well as a solo performance by Henry Toland of Passing Afternoons for this show.

Bombshell’s Tavern - 5405 Edgewater Dr. - Live music by Seven Second Suicide, Destruction Upon Us, Fear The Concept, Wage War, Day By Day, Atlas, Within The Outbreak, Dead Stop and Jaded for this show. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 day of show and parking is always FREE.

BB Kings Blues Club - 9101 International Dr. - Live music from Blue Stone Circle at 8 p.m.

West End Trading Company - 202 S. Sanford Ave. (Sanford) - RPR presents open mic hosted by Joshua Snyder with Rhenn Again at 8 p.m. This FREE event is 18+.

Tuesday, July 8

The Red Lion Pub - 3784 Howell Branch Road - Twisted Tuesday with Evan Taylor Jones for this 18+ show. This FREE event includes live music and other entertainment as well as a home-cooked meal, with a $2 donation to the Red Lion Community Emergency Fund. The live music starts at 7:30 p.m.

Uncle Lou’s - 1016 N. Mills Ave. - Live music by Mr. Clit and the Pink Cigarettes, All Over The Place, Room Full of Strangers and "Partying" for this all ages show. The doors open at 9 p.m.

Smiling Bison - 745 Bennett Road - Second Thursday singer/songwriter series hosted by Beth McKee. This month’s edition features live performances from Lauren Carder, Tina Nicole and Jackson Rodgers.
