Pop duo A Great Big World hits the top 10 of Billboard's Hot 100 this week with "Say Something." Thanks to their recent performance with Christina Aguilera on the American Music Awards, "Say Something" climbs to no. 10 on the chart, Billboard reported on Wednesday.
A Great Big World first released "Say Something" as a solo track and Aguilera caught wind of the release so she requested to work on it with them. The duo - comprised of Chad Vaccarino and Ian Axel - re-recorded the song with Christina. It debuted on the Hot 100 chart four weeks ago at no. 16 and this week it hits the top 10. According to Billboard, "Say Something" will sit at no. 10 on Thursday with 197,000 digital copies sold (a 63% sales increase).
"Say Something" marks A Great Big World's very first appearance and top 10 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. For Aguilera, this is the third time she features on a hit song. She and Maroon 5 hit no. 1 on the Hot 100 with "Moves Like Jagger" in 2011 and Pitbull found success with her earlier this year on "Feel This Moment," which became a top 10 hit. Overall, this marks Xtina's 11th top 10 single on the Hot 100.
A Great Big World's debut album "Is There Anybody Out There?" will be released on Jan. 14. Aguilera is featured on the soundtrack to "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" with her song "We Remain."
