According to the CDC (Center of Disease Control), the most common birth month is August followed by September then July, which means there’s a good chance you probably know someone who just had a baby or is having real soon. Perhaps you are a mom-to-be looking for some cool items to add to your registry or you’re attending a baby shower and need gift ideas (not everyone likes shopping from registries), whatever the case may be I compiled the below list of some great baby gifts.

TWELVElittle diaper bag
Diaper bags have come a long way in the style department, which lets moms and dads still be stylish as they cart baby around. TWELVElittle is a newer diaper bag line that is both fashionable and functional. Two close friends Julia and Jenny, RISD and Parsons alumnae, who were surrounded by friends and families struggling to find the perfect baby bag, founded the line. The ladies decided to team up and they used their knowledge and experience to create TWELVElittle. The line is inspired by the twelve signs of the Asian zodiac and designed with high-quality water resistant fabrics and genuine leather. What I love about these bags is that these bags can grow from diaper bag to fashion-forward accessory. The line includes satchels, totes, and backpacks in an array of colors to please both mom and dad. My favorite is the Unisex Courage Tote in black. It’s really durable and fit all the necessary items you need for baby plus gadgets including an iPad. I also like that TWELVElittle’s diaper bags have an exclusive bottom hidden zipper pocket that allows parents to quickly take care of dirty diapers and clothes. Please visit their website at to shop their collection.

Philips AVENT Drying Rack
I have one of these and I can’t say enough about the Philips AVENT drying rack. I love the innovative design and how easy it is to use. The rack can hold a full day’s supply of bottles, accessories as well as breast pump parts. My other favorite feature is how compact this rack is. It’s not overly big and can fit easily anywhere in the kitchen. It’s also really easy to clean and is dishwasher safe. The Philips AVENT drying rack is available at Babies R Us for $17.99.

Baby books
It’s never too early to introduce your child to books. Author, Dan Stiles created a really cool set of visually stimulating books called Baby's First Book Blocks. It’s a set of four mini board books designed to help babies develop visual skills and encourage burgeoning motor skills. Current research shows that by just 2 months of age, babies can not only see color, but they can even distinguish between subtly different shades. All babies can develop visual perception by looking at images and parents can stimulate babies' visual development by spending just a few minutes a day with baby looking at these colorful books/blocks. I received a set of these books for review and they are great. I love that these books feature bold colors, diverse shapes, and intricate patterns. They are easy for my one year old to hold and to stack them on top of the other one. My five-year-old daughter also likes the books. She knows her colors and shapes now so she uses them to try to teach her little brother. It’s a beautiful thing to see them interact like that. Baby's First Book Blocks is suggested for ages 0-3 and is available for purchase on

Mamas & Papas
I have many baby items from this brand and I love their products. They recently introduced a line of activity toys for baby called Babyplay. These make great baby shower gifts or just a baby gift in general. If there’s a wishing well at the shower these are perfect! My favorite is the Disco Elephant. I love the colors, design and features. Disco Elephant rattles, chimes and crinkles. Baby can chew on the plastic teething rattle and c-ring to help soothe sore teething gums. It has everything to keep baby busy. The Babyplay line is available at
