Thinking about the reason for the season, be reminded of how much you have to be grateful for. Your children who love you unconditionally even if they don’t always show you. Being a great mother, father, and friend, even if you fall short sometimes.
When you can take a moment and realize and recognize that it is not the stuff you give but the love you have that matters most to your family and friends, you can take a deep breath and just say Thank YOU.
Gratitude is the attitude for this the season. Regardless your religious or spiritual affiliation gratitude in non-denominational, it is a feeling and a state of being, not a state of doing!
So before you begin the business of the day take a moment to say Thank You! Thank you for your health and strength. Thank you for the love of family. Thank you for the people who make a difference in your life and those whose lives you make difference in.
Regardless of how things may be in your life today, embrace the possibility that GOD has a bigger plan for you even if you don’t know what it might be.
Be grateful that you have the memories both good and not so good, that have taught you how to be a better person. Strive each and everyday to see the good in everyone, because seeing their good enhances the good within you. Thank GOD for the clarity, focus, ease, and grace by which you endeavor to live your life. Thank GOD for your forgiving heart! Thank GOD for the strength to move away from those that do not serve your greater good, and move toward those that do.
Think about the life you have and the love you share. Think about the importance of caring for your body, your spirit, and the mind that governs all the things in your life.
When you care for your body you are better able to nurture your spirit. This vehicle entrusted to you by GOD is the vehicle by which you express HIS love. This body has been entrusted to your care so that you may be of service to HIS work.
This season, turn you focus back to what is most important, the love of your family, the love of you neighbor and the love of yourself. This is the reason for the season!
Thank you GOD from whom all blessings flow. Thank you for you feet, that direct you towards the service of others. Thank YOU for your arms, that allow you to embrace those who need to feel love and appreciation. Thank YOU for your eyes, that you may see the love of GOD in the eyes of those you meet. Thank YOU for your heart, that allows you to feel the presence of GOD that lives within you. Thank YOU for your ears that hear the love of GOD through sound. Thank YOU for your nose, that allows you to smell the goodies that feed your body, and nourish your soul.
This is the time for gratitude, not for the stuff you may receive, but the stuff you already have. This is the time to acknowledge that GOD didn't bring you this far to leave you twisting in the wind. To embrace the fact that GOD can dream a bigger dream for you then you could ever dream for yourself.
Today is the day to lift up and reach out to those who may feel lost, and simply need to know that they are loved and are not alone.
This is the reason for the season. So as you join together with friends and family, don't think about what you are about to eat, but about the love you are about to share.
As you bless your food, and the hands, that have prepared it, think about the sacrifices made that you could have the life you have. Jesus said, love your enemies, forgive those who have forsaken you. Be the example you wish to see in the world and that will make this world a better place.
It doesn't matter what gifts you give or receive, this season let your gift be your presence in their lives. The Present is the greatest gift you can give.
So as you eat drink and be Merry remember that it is love that makes the world go round and spread that love. Place your hands over your lips, and blow a kiss of love for all the world to receive.
May this Christmas be the best Christmas for you and those you love. And may this Christmas be brighter because you have turned on the light of love.
