Gratitude

When life begins to daunt you and there seems to be little you can do to ease a depressed mood you can ignite a ray of hope by shifting your focus on what you have been blessed with instead of what you lack. This shift in thinking can create a shining light that can then guide you into a sense of well being and gratitude.

Making a simple daily list of the things you are grateful for goes a long ways in transferring your mind from doubting and grim to light and hopeful. Dedicating a journal or notepad for this daily ritual will serve as a place to list your blessings. In addition the accumulation of lists can be referred to as a reminder of all that you have been given. This, in itself, will lift you up.

When you feel a sense of gloom coming over you don't allow it to take hold! Take a look at the blessings you have recorded and dedicate time to list five a day. Spending a minute or two upon waking either writing or reading your list and again right before sleep will sandwich your day with positivity.

This form of creative expression can be taken further by adding color, images, quotes and biblical scriptures. Doing so will add more depth to the positive messages you want to feed into your mind. Start small and see where it takes you!
