Personally, I had HBO's quick-witted Larry Merchant ahead of both Tim Bradley and Devon Alexander in their heavily hyped but ultimately disappointing fight Saturday night in the domed disaster in Pontiac, Mich.

It would be ridiculous to say that it turned into a double elimination situation and that St. Louis resident Alexander, only 23, and the 27 year old Bradley BOTH knocked themselves from future consideration for a fight against either Pacman or Floyd Mayweather Jr.
But I think that, due to Bradley's habit of head butting and cutting foes by doing so and his lack of live gate drawing power, he's unlikely to get a crack at the Pinoy Idol.
Bradley, who is in super condition but less than a powerful puncher, must drive a Ram Charger the way he uses his head as a third weapon in the ring.
If he keeps this up, the next venue for one of his fights might be the Billy Goat Tavern in downtown Chicago, the old "cheezborder, no Coke" place made famous on "Saturday Night Live" by John Belushi and his comedic sidekicks.
From what we saw in a competitive and entertaining but not enthralling bout in the Silverdome about 25 miles from economically depressed Detroit, it's hard to figure either of these 140 popunders getting a dance with "Money" or Pacquiao down the line.
They both established themselves as HBO main event fighters but neither walks away a supersdtar despite the prime cable network's ordaining it "The Super Fight" and giving it a buildup that was effective but excessive.

Merchat rang another bell of truth when he remarked there's no compelling need for an immediate rematch.
Either Bradley or Alexander is a suitable for Amir Khan or any other junior welterweight although Khan figures to beat them both.
But the youngsteers won't see their names hyphenated with Mayweather or Pacman on the other side of the puncutation mark.
For Devon or Ti9m to get into the Pacquiao movie or the Mayweather saga, well at this point they would only fit in as extras.
Oh, and before you go...one more Merchant bon mot.
As to their hitting ability, Sir Lawrence of Santa Monica said: "Neither one can break a grape."
Like I said, Merchant hit his target more than the always willing but sometimes found wanting fighters.

Pacquiao will fight both of them back to back, same night and he will still knock both guys out.
The fight between Pac vs Bradley would never happen because Pac only fights shot fighters coming off of losses and despite not looking spectacular, so far Bradley is still undefeated and young. However, there's a good chance Pac could select Alexander as his next opponent because now that he's coming off a loss, he fits the criteria for a worthy opponent by Pac standards.
Not really, if only you can put up a guaranteed purse for Pac. He'd rape Tim "THE HEAD" Bradley and Devon "THE NOT SO GREAT" Alexander the same time in the same ring.

From now on Pacman will fight multiple number of opponents in one fight in order to accommodate all those itching to have a piece of him whether one with a "0" garbage record or a loser. Fighting these bums one at a time is no longer necessary since he can tear them all easily in a one on one match. Yeah styles make fights. In this case, their style didn't make the fight.
Grabbing and clinching instead of boxing were their repertoire. And these guys are undefeated? Who did they defeat? They could not even hit accurately and all they did was clinch and banged their heads. Good thing it ended in the 10th round of a 12 round bout, I was almost ready to turn off my TV.

I am now totally convinced that Bradley's best and very best punch is his HEAD BUTT. He even springs his head from below in deliberate fashion. The last head butt he delivered to Alexander was so blatant and he was totally aware that everyone watching clearly saw what he did. And after the stoppage, he even feigned to have also suffered the impact of that supposedly accidental head butt he consciously delivered BY COVERING WITH A SMALL TOWEL THE WRONG SIDE OF HIS FACE. Clearly the impact point of his head butt was on his right face, BUT HE WAS COVERING HIS LEFT EYEBROW. THIS GUY IS A CON .... A HEAD BUTT ARTIST. BTW, the whole fight was boring and I also agree that the Pacman-Mosley fight come May 7 will e a LOT MORE EXCITING and EXPLOSIVE..... NO HEAD BUTTS, JUST the crisp sound of boxing gloves delivering their full impact on perfect targets. I also agree that Alexander and Bradley will not get past KHAN or even MAIDANA. I would be interested though to see either of these slack black lady punchers to face Juan Ma Marquez who I believe would demolish them.
