Grandmother Debra Denison kills her 2 grandsons and self in Connecticut

State police in Hartford Connecticut want to know why a grandmother would kill her two young grandsons in “an apparent-murder suicide.”

This grandmother, 47-year-old Debra Denison, had a history of mental illness. On Tuesday, she was supposed to pick up the boys from day care and take them to a party.

Instead, Denison transported the children to a lake and shot them with a revolver. That gun actually belonged to her husband, a relative told police.

Marcia White, a paternal great-grandmother of the boys, said the family knew that Denison battled mental issues. However, the boys’ great-uncle, said Denison had “appeared to have improved in recent months,” according to the Huffington Post.

Denison left a suicide note, stating that God was watching over her 13-year-old son. He was not with her “Tuesday afternoon and was apparently unharmed.” Still, police do not know why this grandmother murdered her small grandsons.

“Police have not released the contents of the suicide note,” and the family does not know what “triggered the violence.”

The boys’ parents, Jeremy and Brenda Perry, do not blame the day care for releasing the children to Denison because she was authorized to pick up the boys.
