This Sunday September 7 is Grandparents Day and the San Antonio Children’s Museum is celebrating by hosting a special Grandparent's Day event. There will be a special performance by The United States Air Force Band of the West in the lower level of the museum at 2p.m where guests will be able to enjoy music from Mission Winds Clarinet Quartet.
Since it’s a special day for grandparents they are encouraged to visit the museum with their families and enjoy the museum’s exhibits together. They can participate with the family in the weekly educational activities that include the Investigation Station at 12:30p.m. where kids can explore and investigate basic science concepts. Another is the Art Pavilion at 3p.m. where kids can let the creativity flow with arts and crafts.
As an added bonus, this weekend is also the first full weekend of the month and Bank of America and Merrill Lynch cardholders are eligible for free admission. The San Antonio Children’s Museum is a participating museum in Bank of America/Merrill Lynch’s Museums on Us® program. All they have to do is present their Bank of America/Merrill Lynch credit card or debit card and a valid photo id.
The San Antonio Children’s Museum is committed to learning and fun by providing guests with three floors of exciting interactive exhibits. The museum will soon have a new location which is set to open in the summer of 2015 at 2800 Broadway and will offer more exhibit space and a greater emphasis on interactive science, technology, art and literacy activities.
