Grandma shot self, grandsons: Depression targeted double murder-suicide?

A grandma shot herself and her grandsons after she picked them up from daycare in Preston, Conn. Tuesday night. According to a Wednesday report on Portland Press Herald, the bodies of 47-year-old Debra Denison and her two grandsons -- Alton Perry, 2, and Ashton Perry, six months -- were discovered at Lake of Isles in Preston.

What would have caused a grandma to shoot her grandsons and then herself? According to family members, Denison had a history of mental problems that included depression and split personalities. She was also described as having bipolar disorder, but she seemed to be doing well lately.

Nikki Salaun, director of the Kidds & Co. daycare, said when the children's grandma came in to pick them up, she was friendly and talkative. Salaun claimed there was no visible distress that she could see or she would have intervened in some way. Brenda Perry, the boys' mother, had put Denison on the list of those she gave permission to pick up her sons.

Debra Denison left behind a suicide note and wrote in it that God was watching over her 13-year-old son.
