What should come as no surprise to anyone, Grand Theft Auto V climbed the ranks to become the most played game on Xbox Live this past week. As reported by Game Informer on Oct 6, Microsoft’s Major Nelson earlier confirmed the news by releasing a list of the top 20 played titles for the week of Sept 30.
Considering the fact that GTA Online launched during the week, it makes sense that a game that is breaking sales records would be played a lot over Xbox Live when it released its online multiplayer mode via a free update.
GTA Online also received its first title update earlier this weekend which was intended to help alleviate some of the issues players are experiencing with connectivity and character progression loss.
Grand Theft Auto V is now available on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Rockstar Games’ newly released multiplayer mode allows fans to create their own online persona within the open-world title. Players build their in-game avatar’s appearance through a hereditary-based process where a character visually changes after selecting their parents and grandparents.
