'Grand Theft Auto V' takes home 'Game Of The Year' award

At Saturday night's Video Game Awards presented by Spike TV, "Grand Theft Auto V" by developer Rockstar North took home the grand prize for being the 2013 "Game of The Year."

The game, which released in September 2013, has been critically acclaimed since its release despite its online multiplayer being plagued by bugs.

Other nominees in this category were "Tomb Raider," "BioShock Infinite," "Super Mario 3D World," and "The Last of Us."

Throughout the show, other awards given included "Best Indie Game" to "Gone Home," "Best Sports Game" to "NBA 2K14," "Best Mobile Game" to "Plants Vs. Zombies 2," and "Studio of the Year" to Naughty Dog.
