Review of 'Grand Theft Auto 5' says 'best ever'

The latest video game review of "Grand Theft Auto 5" is nothing less than spectacular. After Rockstar Games' first release 12 years ago, critics suggest the franchise keeps getting better. On September 6, PCMag wrote that five new features make GTA-5 the "most ambitious" yet.

In a masterful confection of violence, satire, and drama, the newest installment is a testament of the game-maker's quest to raise the bar, while preserving original elements of the project.

The new "Grand Theft Auto" video game makes one thing apparent from the start: Los Santos – and mayhem—are the centers of action. Remember the city in "GTA: San Andreas?"

Nonetheless, the action revolves around Michael, his homie-in-crime, Trevor, and Franklin, a reformed gang-banger. The trio team up and wreck havoc in the fictional Los Angeles city that is boiling over in a cesspool of corruption at the highest and lowest levels.

Michael and Franklin can slow time in various ways. Meanwhile, Trevor is a beast, in that he can deal out a can of carnage and absorb damage along the way.

While the review of the game is largely positive, it often gets lost in the plot. However, what it lacks in narrative, it makes up in a visceral experience with graphics and cinema.

Fasten your seat belt when the boys gear up for heists, that all revolve around planning the mission, executing it, and carrying out epic attacks at the end.

Along with majoring in all-things-crime, the Rockstar added five new triple threat elements of interactive play in GTA-5 that has taken the game to another level: the enigmatic world of Los Santos, off-the-chain radio stations, mini-games with the larger game, an array of protagonists, and multi-player options.
