Grand Rapids Griffins make a solid move with Mike Knuble

It was smart for the Grand Rapids Griffins to sign Mike Knuble to a tryout. Why not?
It's another good media angle for which to cover the Griffins.
He may even find his way to the Detroit Red Wings if they have some struggles this season. He lives in East Grand Rapids so he could walk out to the ice rink, literally.
Knuble, who played for East Kentwood and Michigan, saw some action with the Red Wings during his career. His stats aren't bad considering he totaled 274 goals in 1,040 NHL games.
Knuble last played in the AHL with the Adirondack Red Wings during the 1996-97 season. He has 108 points (50-58—108) in 148 career AHL games.
