Princess Cruises has been sailing from San Francisco ever since the company first began operation. Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises Executive Vice President states that “both Bay Area passengers and travel agents have long been asking for more cruise options from San Francisco.”
Beginning in March 2013, the new San Francisco base will provide more options and cruises to some of the worlds most beautiful ports. The Alaska cruises will feature thirteen excursions with magnificent views of Glacier Bay National Park or Tracy Arm Fjord. The Mexico cruises will include two 10-day itineraries, featuring two new ports; Loreto and La Paz, while the ever popular California Coastal cruise takes passengers to Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, San Diego and Ensenada. Topping off is the 15-day Hawaiian cruise with stops in Oahu, Kauai, Maui, the Big Island and Ensenada.
Monique Moyer, Executive Director of the Port of San Francisco is very excited of the new tenant stating “we are delighted to now have our first year-round ship based here. “
When the Grand Princess makes its entrance on March 2013, San Francisco will be the perfect setting as the Grand Princess sails under the Golden Gate Bridge to dock at the foot of Coit Tower. It will surely be a spectacular sight to see.
