The first super center for King Soopers opened it's doors today in the new Northgate Village shopping center in Greeley, CO. The King Sooper Marketplace is 123,000 square feet and was the main event of the day here in Northern Colorado. Local customers flocked into the store to see what all the buzz was about. Kelly Wagner in the General Merchandise Department said King Soopers' goal was to create a "one stop shop". Customers today were taking advantage of the savings available and according to the Home Manager, these savings will continue for another two weeks.
The Marketplace features a Sushi Bar, Olive and antipasto bar, Fromage Bar, Deli, Pharmacy and a Starbucks. The store includes home decor and furniture, bed and bath products, and an extensive selection of kitchenware, toys, pet supplies and baby accessories. In addition, the Marketplace includes a Fred Meyer Jewelry Store, US Bank, Optimum Wellness Solutions Vitamin Shoppe, and an outdoor garden.
The King Sooper's employees and management were enthusiastic, knowledgeable and helpful towards the swarms of people visiting the Marketplace today for the Grand Opening. Whether the local economy will be able to sustain this super center remains to be seen, however, today was a very positive start.
