The newest and arguably most musician-friendly venue in downtown Milwaukee makes it official with a Grand Opening party this Saturday, March 23.
Proprietors Rich Dacquisto and Gina Marie Emanuele will showcase Anthony's on Jefferson in the Historic Third Ward with an extravaganza that kicks off at 6 p.m.
This place is known for its live music and this event will open with the acoustic duo, LJ & Bill.
The pair will be doing some covers but mostly features LJ's haunting originals.
She is writing new pieces all the time, but will do fan favorites like "Listen to the Song."
Big O and The Nightowls Showband have been tabbed to headline the bash with their popular melange of R&B, funk and blues.
Oscar Wheeler's group does a 15-minute cover of Grover Washington's "Mister Magic" that flat-out rocks the house every time.
There will be free food from 6-8 p.m., glasses of the house wine for $3 and a free glass of champagne for guests to toast the occasion.
Anthony's is located at 185 North Jefferson Street with plenty of street parking and its own lot south of the club.
