Superstar Carrie Underwood will herald in the return of the Grand Ole Opry to this year's Country Radio Seminar (CRS), kicking off the event on Feb. 19 at the Nashville Convention Center. Last year, Underwood celebrated her five-year anniversary since becoming an Opry member in 2008, and it's only fitting that the powerhouse help in the celebrations.
The lineup also includes additional Opry members Rascal Flatts and Old Crow Medicine Show. Guests Thompson Square, Love & Theft, Brandy Clark, Will Hoge and Eric Paslay will be on hand to perform, as well.
This live music, sponsored by My Well-Being Powered by Humana with performances Powered by Live Nation, will take place at 7 p.m. following the annual CRS Opening Night Welcome Reception.
“We were thrilled to introduce the Opry to CRS last year,” says Opry Vice-President and General Manager Pete Fisher in an official statement on Thursday (Jan. 16). “The show was a home run, and we’re looking forward to making history again at CRS 2014.”
As the show that made country music famous, the Opry has rarely taken shows outside of the Opry House or its original wooden home, the Ryman Auditorium.
CRS is scheduled for February 19-21 the Nashville Convention Center.
