Grand Hyatt New York renovation nears completion

With a new look, new spaces and amenities, and a new director of sales, Grand Hyatt New York, the landmark hotel in the heart of midtown Manhattan (located on 42nd Street between Park and Lexington), is nearing the culmination of its $130 million renovation, scheduled for November. When unveiled, the renowned luxury hotel will include completely redesigned guestrooms; a new restaurant, New York Central; a refreshed lobby and mezzanine level; new meeting spaces and a completely reworked ballroom; and a gourmet grab-and-go food concept called Market.  

A minimalist decor with refined hues, lush textures and engaging artwork will give every guestroom the mood of a sleek and modern Manhattan residence. The Grand Club provides added luxury offering elevator key access, complimentary breakfast, afternoon snacks and evening hors d’oeuvres and drinks. Grand Hyatt New York is perfect for groups of any size offering intimate meeting rooms and the 18,000-square-foot Empire Ballroom. Boasting more than 50 meeting rooms and 55,000 square feet of meeting space, the hotel can accommodate groups of up to 1,500 people.

Grand Hyatt New York has also welcomed Eamon O’Brien as director of sales, tasked with providing leadership for the day-to-day operations of the sales department, while upholding the property’s acclaimed level of service. O’Brien relocated to New York after serving as the associate director of sales for the Hyatt Regency in Chicago. Prior to his role at the Hyatt Regency, O’Brien spent several years in sales executive positions with Marriott International.
