Christopher Dorner, the ex-LAPD cop who is on the loose after a shooting rampage, has caused extra security assigned to the Grammy’s on Sunday. According to Radaronline on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, Dorner’s infatuation with celebrities, as see in his manifesto, prompted the people managing the 2013 Grammy event to take the extra precaution since he is still at large.
Dorner was fired as an LAPD officer a few years back and he has held a grudge apparently since that time. He wrote in his manifesto that he is out to kill LAPD police officers and their families. He also taunted that there’s not any place where they can be safe from him. He is suspected of killing three people, a police captain’s daughter and her fiance and a veteran police officer.
Dorner ambushed two police officers on a security detail, injuring one. He also ambushed another duo of officers sitting at a red light while they were on routine patrol. Dorner killed one of those officers.
With the killing of LAPD officers and their families as the goal of his mission, concerns grow as this heavily armed man is highly trained in police tactics. This shooting suspect has sparked the biggest manhunt in the history of L.A, according to Fox News live on Friday.
Organizers of the Grammy’s, the big award night for the music business, are taking no chances after Dorner’s fascination with many celebrities were conveyed in the bizarre manifesto that he posted on Facebook. Not only will there be uniformed police at the Grammy Awards, but plain clothed officers will be patrolling the area.
Dorner mentioned several celebrities in his manifesto by name, some are “possible guests at this year’s Grammy’s,” reports Radaronline. Thousands of police officers are diligently tracking down any clues to the whereabouts of this suspected shooter, but with the tactical training that Dorner has had, it is proving not to be an easy feat.
If Dorner planned on making the Grammy Awards one of his destinations this weekend, he won’t have much of a chance to go unnoticed with all the extra security they’re planning.
