On March 20, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony rapper, Stanley “Flesh-N-Bone” Howse was reported in the Flint Journal as having agreed to a partnership with a dispensary in Michigan. A global executive for Flesh-N-Bone confirmed that the rapper and the dispensery known as The Green Oasis, will be releasing a unique strand of marijuana called “Phifty Caliber Kush”. The product is considered the first in a potential line of many to be released throughout the course of their partnership.
Marijuana dispensaries for patients with particular ailments were approved in Michigan in 2008. While gaining gradual acceptance in the Midwest, Washington and Colorado have lead the charge against anti-marijuana legislation by legalizing the drug for recreational use in 2012.
The partnership between Grammy award winner, Flesh-N-Bone, and The Green Oasis will be the first official use of celebrity to promote a marijuana dispensary. In addition to other products, visits from the celebrity and additional merchandise can be expected. If this proves successful, it could revolutionize the way marijuana is promoted at the hundreds of dispensaries across the country.
