Grammy-nominated Swedish chamber music at the Kennedy Center

Gustaf Sjökvist’s Chamber Choir (GSKK) is a 33-member Swedish chamber choir that is a very active part of Swedish musical life, presenting performances throughout the country as well as touring internationally in the United States, Hong Kong and Germany with such artists as Barbara Hendricks and Jan Lundgren.

They serve as your window into contemporary Swedish classical music by performing primarily contemporary classical music by such composers as Sven-David Sandström, Lars Edlund, Jan Sandström, Carl Unander-Scharin, Georg Riedel, and Bo Holten.

Their album "I vår tid" was nominated for a Swedish Grammy Award in the category Classical Recording of the Year 2011.

Their performance will take place on the Millenium Stage at the Kennedy Center on February 19, 2013 at 6 p.m. They are part of the Kennedy Center's Nordic Cool 2013. To learn more about this performance, visit the Kennedy Center website.
