Grammy goof up as microphone is lost during Clarkson, Aldean duet (video)

The 2012 Grammy Awards show had some moments Sunday night during the live broadcast from Hollywood.  The song, ‘Don’t You Wanna Stay’ opened up with great duet by Kelly Clarkson and Jason Aldean. The song is a favorite of many fans and everyone seemed happy with the rendition. Near the end a moment happened that is dreaded by singers. The microphone was lost during Aldeen’s ending. This is not a normal occurrence at a show the caliber of the Grammy’s.

One fan exclaimed, “Someone’s head is going to roll, they just lost the mic on Aldeen.” People gathered around the television to replay the event and see exactly where the problem was. In the video to the left you can see Aldeen fumble about 3 minutes into the performance. By the marker of 3:15 he is visibly checking his microphone connections. The duet finished up with Kelly Clarkson singing solo.

They may have seemed to have handled it well, but in the old days a singer would simply offer their microphone and stick the heads together to finish up. Instead Kelly Clarkson finishes her half of the duet, minus the voice of Aldeen.  It all seemed to happen fairly quickly, so check out the video and see if you agree it could have been handled differently.
