Grammy award-winning trumpeter and composer Christ Botti will perform here in January as part of Larry Rosen's Jazz Roots series, which has been hailed for bringing the world's most talented performers to Miami.

Botti, who is the largest selling instrumental artist in the country, will perform Friday, Jan. 17 at 8 p.m. in the Knight Concert Hall at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts as part of the sixth season of the Jazz Roots series.

"This concert is undoubtedly one of the hottest jazz tickets of the season," said John Richard, President and CEO of the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts. "Botti's music epitomizes an expression and style in jazz and in genres beyond that which has thoroughly established him as one of the most celebrated and popular instrumentalists of our time," he added.

"In establishing this series, it was my goal to bring Miami the most gifted and talented artists showcasing a broad spectrum in jazz and Chris Botti is an artist who takes jazz to wider audiences," said Larry Rosen, who created the Jazz Roots series in 2008 and is currently celebrating its sixth season.

Nominated for a Grammy four times, Botti took home the 2013 Grammy for the Best Pop Instrumental Album last year for his acclaimed CD "Impressions." The Grammy symbolized his success as a cross over artist who is a hit with both pop and jazz audiences alike.

He appeared last month with Barbra Streisand on her televised PBS "Back to Brooklyn" concert. He has also performed with Sting, Josh Groban, Michael Buble, Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, John Mayer, Andrea Bocelli, Joshua Bell, Steven Tyler and even Frank Sinatra.

Tickets range from $25 to $150 and may be purchased through the Adrienne Arsht Center box office by calling (305) 949-6722 or online.
