Grammy Award for ‘Best Song of the Year’ goes to Fun, ‘We Are Young’

Country singers Faith Hill and Tim McGraw presented the song of the year at The 55th Annual Grammy Awards which aired February 10 on CBS. Hosted by Grammy Award winner LL Cool J, the show was an homage to both old and new talent in the music industry.

Hill and McGraw welcomed Fun back onto the stage to accept their award for song of the year for their single “We Are Young” featuring Janelle Monáe, guitarist Jack Antonoff, songwriter Jeff Bhasker, musician Andrew Dost & singer Nate Ruess.

Recognizing their song is considered an upbeat, inspirational song for many, Fun accepted the Grammy award happily.

As they accepted their first award at the 2013 Grammys ever Fun thanked their family members, fans, and everyone else that had helped them along the way.

Earlier in the evening, they performed their hit song “Carry On” during which it started to rain. Yes, you read correctly, it was raining during the Grammys at the STAPLES center in Los Angeles. Their performance was, for lack of a better word, fun! Everyone joined in as they belted out the powerful lyrics.

Fun was also nominated for Best Record of the Year but was beat out by "Somebody That I Used To Know" from Gotye featuring Kimbra.
