The 55th Grammy Awards are less than two weeks away, and the Recording Academy is making it easier for undiscovered musicians to put their music in front of more people online.
According to Jan. 28, report by Mashable’s Brian Anthony Hernandez, “Grammy Amplifier, part of the academy's #TheWorldIsListening social media blitz, lets artists upload songs via Soundcloud for the opportunity to have their music amplified by select celebrities on Twitter such as Kelly Clarkson, Linkin Park, RZA and Ozzy Osbourne.”
In the highly competitive music industry, musicians maybe able to create a 'buzz' with this new website which allows music lovers to listen to the music and share songs with their friends and followers on Facebook and Twitter. According to the report, “The more plays and shares a song gets, the better chance it has at having the celebrity artists see them.”
Over the past few years, social media has provided a platform that enables more and more undiscovered artists to quickly launch to stardom.
With slogans like "Inspire the world," "The world is listening," "Share your sound," and "Be heard," Grammy Amplifier should soon see a lot of activity from future stars and a lot of wannabes.
The 2013 Grammy Awards, hosted this year by LL Cool J, will air Feb. 10.
