According to the Canadian Press, in a decision made Friday, former controversial junior hockey coach Graham James will spend five years in prison instead of two years for sexually assaulting his players.
James, who coached the Moose Jaw Warriors, Swift Current Broncos and Calgary Hitmen in the Western Hockey League from 1984 to 1997, faced a second set of sexual assault charges against former Calgary Flames superstar Theoren Fleury and his cousin, Todd Holt in 2011.
Fleury was coached by James in Moose Jaw.
James originally spent time in prison for sexually assaulting former Calgary Flame Sheldon Kennedy while coaching him in Swift Current.
Fleury was very pleased with the decision made by the Manitoba Court of Appeal Justice Alan MacInnes. Through his twitter account, @TheoFleury14, Fleury stated, "this is a great day for all survivors",
James has only spent time in prison for molesting Fleury, Holt and Kennedy, but there is a strong belief he has molested other boys as well.
