Graeme McDowell, the golfer from Northern Ireland who in 2010 became the fifth U. S. Open champion to be crowned at Pebble Beach Golf Links, is returning to the scene of his first major tournament win to play in the 2014 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am next February.
Tournament organizers announced yesterday that the 2010 U.S. Open champion has committed to the event.
“We are pleased that Graeme McDowell is joining us in February. Providing a great field that adds to the competition and spectator enjoyment is always our priority,” states Monterey Peninsula Foundation CEO Steve John.
McDowell will join other top PGA Tour pros in the field at Pebble Beach, as well as sports stars like San Francisco Giants pitcher Matt Cain, Detroit Tigers hurler Justin Verlander, and tennis star Andy Roddick, and stars from the world of entertainment such as Pebble Beach perennial Ray Romano, Chris O’Donnell of CBS-TV’s NCIS: Los Angeles, and Eric Close of ABC-TV’s Nashville.
The tournament is scheduled for the week of February 3rd through 9th on Pebble Beach Golf Links, Spyglass Hill Golf Course and Monterey Peninsula Country Club’s Shore Course. Weekly tickets for the tournament are $125 until February 2nd, when the price increases to $150. Daily grounds-only tickets for the 2014 tournament rounds are $50 in advance and $60 starting February 2, 2014. Any-day ticket books, containing 10 coupons which may be exchanged at the gate for a daily ticket, sell for $425 in advance, $600 starting February 2nd.
Practice round tickets, which are good for Monday – Wednesday of tournament week are $50 in advance ,and $60 starting February 2nd. These tickets includes entrance to the popular Chevron Shoot-Out between the San Francisco Giants and the San Francisco 49ers on Tuesday of tournament week, and the 3M Celebrity Challenge on Wednesday of tournament week.
