Having just graduated last December, the ten page papers and the lack of sleep during finals lie fresh in this writer’s mind. . . and nightmares. So in support for the grads that have also made it through those four years, here’s an event that will make college seem like it never happened- well, for one night at least.
On May 7th, Carolina Nightlife is throwing a 2010 Graduation Bar Crawl. The event will be held from 7pm-2am, and gives grads the chance to earn an education in something they actually care about- a degree in parrrrtttyy!
Check in starts at Boardwalk Billy’s and Bad Dogs at 7pm and lasts until 9pm. Then it’s off to the following bars:
Black Bear Saloon: 9:15-10:15
Town Tavern: 10:30-11:30
The Gin Mill: 11:45-12:45
Dixie's Tavern: 1-2
(Information provided by Graduation Crawl Facebook invite)
A bus will pick the crawlers up and take them to all the locations- and they’re not talking those ratty, black and yellow ones either, but rather a double-decker party bus. And as an added bonus, there are no cover charges and no waiting in line at the bars, either.
But if riding around in a party bus isn’t enough, a few lucky grads will have the chance to earn more than a diploma. Just some of the giveaways listed include Corona snowboards and inflatable party rafts, but there’s more prizes in-store.
Tickets are $20, and the first 50 who purchase tickets get a T-shirt, too. Which a grad will wear more than that black gown, right? To purchase tickets, crawlers have to call this number 704-516-2674.
There's really no sweeter sound than “schoooooooooool’s out, forEVER!” And for that reason, it's important to soak up the moment. So before graduating into the real world, take a night off, and graduate to the night life.
