Miami Valley , Whitewater Valley, and the I-71 corridor of Ohio/Indiana:

Synopsis,
With an upper level low to our West a cold front will rotate through by evening. This will kick off another round of showers and thunderstorms late today. However before this happens a break will be felt allowing sunshine to return by midday. Depending on how much sun and instability occurs there will a threat for severe storms this evening. There will be plenty of shear ahead of a cold front approaching from the West. The main impacts from these storms will be damaging winds, large hail, and heavy rainfall. A few of the better organized storms may be capable of isolated tornadoes. However the best instability will remain South of the area. As the front slips through drier air will filter in overnight tonight. This will stabilize the air ending our chances for severe weather by midnight. The next several days the low will slowly weaken but remain cut off from the jet stream meaning this system will keep pieces of energy around with chances for showers at times. Some sun will break through the clouds from time to time but generally a cooler and cloudier pattern will settle in. Finally early next week things break a bit with milder temps and sunshine.

Long range:
More stormy weather looks likely as the jet stream remains active with a fast flow of storms.

The following is the seven day forecast for the Dayton metro area and a 50 mile radius around it. Other metro areas like Columbus, Cincinnati, and Portsmouth are not included. For those areas please request a separate
