Even if you just got the ruby red slippers worn in the Wizard of Oz, you’re welcome to come to the Mandalay and watch Elton John and Elvis Presley perform.
Ryan Roth is Elvis, and Dwight Icenhower is Elton, and together they are helping to fight cancer.
The Elton & Elvis dinner, held this Saturday at the Mandalay Banquet Center, 2700 East River Road in Dayton will benefit the Kettering Medical Center Oncology Department.
Roth has been performing as Elvis for a while now, and he’s the winner of the Nashville Network’s “Be a Star.”
Tickets including dinner are $50, but you’ll need to act quickly, as today (Wednesday) is the last day you can get dinner tickets.
Show-only tickets will be available beginning tomorrow (Thursday) for $35.00.
Tickets are also available at the door, which open at 6pm, with a silent auction and dinner before Elton takes the stage at 8pm.
Then, following an intermission, with the Change of Habit Tribute band behind him, Roth will take the stage as he becomes Elvis for the next hour or so.
We’ve been told by an inside source that there could also be a surprise or two.
Even when he’s not in full Elvis attire and makeup, as you watch Roth sing an Elvis song you can see something special happen.
Halloween weekend, Roth performed with Corky’s Old Time Rock ‘n Roll at Gilly’s Jazz club in downtown Dayton.
We have a video from that show, with Roth singing Blue Suede Shoes. You can see that even when he's not 'fully dressed,' as Elvis, the essence is still there.
Almost like having Elvis called up from the crowd during a visit to Gilly's to see Corky's Old Time Rock 'n Roll show.
For tickets to Saturday’s full scale Elvis show, contact the Mandalay at 937-294-6600 or get tickets at the door.
