God is our Healer

A Daily Word from the Word for Wednesday, August 20, 2014

“And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.” – Revelation 22:1-2

Did you know that there is a tree up in Heaven that bears leaves for healing? Do you want to get even more excited, family? We have access to that tree right now, while we are still on this earth! Technically, while our feet are on the ground, the rest of us is walking around in the first Heaven (Genesis 2:19; 7:3, Psalms 8:8, Lamentations 4:19). The Bible speaks of three heavens, of which our human bodies occupy the first heaven and God’s abode is in the third heaven (Deuteronomy 17:3; Jeremiah 8:2; Matthew 24:29, Deuteronomy 10:14; 1 Kings 8:27, 2 Cor.12:2).

Jesus Himself, Who passed through the third Heaven, guarantees us, the children of the Most High God (born-again believers), that “Assuredly, I [Jesus] say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 18:18). Let us start loosing the blessings of Heaven! Start shaking those trees, my brothers and sisters! Catch those leaves from above!

The Greek word for “leaves,” as used in this verse, is phullon (pr. fool-lon), meaning “a sprout, leaf” (Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance). Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary defines a “sprout” as “to grow, spring up, come forth; to send out new growth.” Isaiah 43:19 testifies with new life: “See, I [God] am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”

The “healing” from these heavenly leaves are therapeia (pr. ther-ap-i-ah), which are “attendance, cure, domestics, healing, household.” Webster defines “domestics” as “living near or about human habitations, devoted to home duties and pleasures.” The Apostle Peter testifies that “[God’s] Divine Power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.”

God has already given us every provision we will ever need; and gave us full, free, and unfettered access to our storehouses through His Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; Who made a way out of now way for us, as He proclaimed “I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6).

We are part of the nations for whom God has provided these leaves. We are the ethnos (pr. eth-nos)—“a race, nation, people.” So what are you waiting for, my brother? How about you, my sister? Do you need healing in your body, in your finances, in your relationships, in your employment, from unhealed hurts? Then reach up to Heaven and take hold of your healing from the leaves of the tree of life, which was planted just for you by the Father Himself.

Father, thank You for being our Great Physician, our Jehovah Jireh, our “God Who Heals.” Most Holy Father, help us to take hold of every provision that You already made for us, and made available through the Sacrifice of Your Son. Do a new thing in us, by Your Holy Spirit, and make a way out of no way by causing streams to come forth. In Jesus Name, we thank You that by His stripes, we have already been healed (Isaiah 53:5). Amen and Amen!

Take action! Challenge your thinking! Choose to believe for complete healing and restoration in every area of your life. Choose to walk in the promises of the Great Physician pertaining to your healing. Develop a kingdom mindset by looking and reaching up. And continue to fight the good fight of touching Heaven; for God, your Divine Remedy, has already given you the victory!

If you have never received Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, I encourage you to do it today, right now, by saying this prayer out loud: “Jesus, forgive me for my sins. I am sorry. I truly desire to be saved and reconciled back to God, my Father, through You. I receive Your sinless Blood as payment in full for my sins—past, present, and future. I now call You my Lord and Savior, and invite You to live within my heart, and to permanently live within me. I make You Lord over me and over my life from this moment on. Amen.” Congratulations! You are now a child of God, made whole and made new, by the Blood of Jesus Christ!

God tells us that we are blessed to be a blessing (Genesis 12:2). Be a blessing to someone by sending them this word of encouragement.
