If finders are keepers, then the Retrievor is a dream for everyone. It can help you find any of your belongings, even a pet! Just the size of a quarter, Retrievor is a tiny disk GPS tracker that can be placed on almost anything. Accuracy of tracking is within 5 feet. And, a Retrievor tracker can be viewed and controlled via web apps or Android/iPhone apps.
This GPS-tracking disk measures less than a half-inch in thickness, and is slightly more than an inch in diameter, making it lightweight and unobtrusive. A Retrievor has a micro USB port to conventionally charge batteries, but it is also powered by tiny solar panels. What's more, a Retrievor can be powered at low usage so that, in theory, it can operate indefinitely.
While tracking a small item (e.g. keys, mobile phone, wallet, even homework) within 5 feet might not necessarily be useful, Retrievor is nevertheless better suited for tracking vehicles, pets, and even people. It's no surprise that the Retrievor can be placed on children's bicycle helmets, backpacks, and coat pockets. In fact, the Retrievor can also be given alert parameters. In other words, with several Retrievors, a virtual fence can be constructed, so that if an item originally within the fence leaves the fenced-in area, the Retrievor will send an alert text-----such as "The pet has left the area," or "The teenager is leaving the premises."
The device is still in its crowd-funding stage, but its developers anticipate that to own a Retrievor will cost less that $2 per month for each tracking device.
