Governor Pat McCrory addresses Pre-K in State of the State Address

North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory, a former Charlotte mayor (Republican), gave his State of the State Address tonight, which aired on UNC-TV during the 7:30 hour.
Speaking of education, Governor Pat McCrory noted his background in the field of education. He then proposed continued reform by “changing the debate on education. “Governor McCrory said, “Instead of only focusing on the budget, we must demand results.”
He then mentioned “budget” and “Pre-K” in the same sentence.
McCrory’s idea of reforming education (Pre-K, K-12, and colleges and universities), includes building partnerships to share resources and teachers. Governor McCrory noted that graduation rates improve with the use of technology. He wants the education lottery money to go towards education. Governor McCrory proposes “less advertising” and more technology for schools. He wants to invest in “virtual learning.”
McCrory then turned his speech towards unemployment.
