The government shutdown is front and center in the headlines today and there's no quick fix in sight. The different takes on the government shutdown have covered the full spectrum, but one of the latest suggestions coming from George Will is that Obama is “rather enjoying the shutdown.”
According to The Daily Caller on Oct. 5, conservative commentator George Will suggests that “President Barack Obama is relishing the government shutdown.” Will appeared on Fox’s “Special Report” on Friday saying that Obama has suffered two “colossal failures” at the hands of Democrats in September. He suggests that the government shutdown comes at the right time to change the subject for the President.
The power to use presidential appointment, when it came appointing Larry Summers to head of the Fed, was squashed by the Democrats. Then the President’s power to use military force to either wage war or threaten to wage war in Syria had the Democrats successfully reel him back in. The government shutdown has changed the subject in the media, which came at the right time for the President.
Is this the case, is the shutdown awarding the President a quick change of venue? What do you think?
