Off the Grid began in June 2010 with the idea that grouping Street Food vendors together would create an experience that would allow neighbors to connect with friends, and families to each other. Currently, Off the Grid operates 16 weekly markets in the greater Bay Area, and works with nearly 150+ vendors weekly. At its core, Off the Grid believes in the power of a shared food experience to connect communities.
Coming to Oakland: For the first time you can enjoy your favorite street food at Off the Grid: Lake Merritt @ OMCA. Join the Oakland Museum of California and Off the Grid on 10th Street every Friday evening from 5-9pm for the East Bay's most interesting weekly night market including a free beer and wine garden around the koi pond at the Blue Oak Café pop-up, half-price museum admission to the Oakland Museum, free live music, film screenings, extended OMCA Store hours, and open studios with the Customizers-in-Residence from the upcoming we/customize exhibition.
