Making Mirrors, is pop at its most precise, but also electronic music at its most emotional. The record delves into dub, Detroit-era Motown soul, stadium-size politi-pop, synth-folk and world music on glorious, sprawling, huge-hearted songs. MTV recently commented, “His style is almost hard to define -- we could say indie folk, we could say indie pop, we could say indie alternative, but what we really wanna say is that it's just pretty effing amazing.”

Gotye used rare instruments such as the Lowrey Cotillion organ and developed a self-constructed bass-line by sampling the Winton Musical Fence that he discovered in the outback of Queensland, Australia. He also sampled sounds he found on vintage records hailing from places like Taiwan and Turkey. Audiences are sure to fall in love with Gotye’s quirky, artful aesthetic and the album’s delightful nuances. Lead single, “Somebody That I Used To Know” has now gone No. 1 in 6 countries, and counting. FILTER MAGAZINE raves, “His newest album, Making Mirrors, is a bold attempt to push his production constructs into the realms of human, field and live instrumental recordings. The result is a successful marriage of everything from dub to Motown…”
