New York City rockers, The Pretty Reckless, released their first album, Light Me Up, in 2010. Since, they have supported Marilyn Manson, Evanescence and Guns N' Roses. Also, they have a new album titled Going To Hell released this year. The Pretty Reckless is made up of Taylor Momsen (vocals, guitar), Ben Phillips (guitar), Mark Damon (bass) and Jamie Perkins (drums). They have also released two videos for singles off the new album.
The video for “Going To Hell” is dirty hard rock and takes place in a dungeon setting. There is also a python that Momsen likes, very much. An older gentleman is strapped to a chair getting teased by Momsen. Is she wearing a body suit of leather or latex? It most definitely doesn’t matter. The song is a celebration of vices and how we are all going to hell and you expect an orgy to break out when the song slows at 2:26. The Pretty Reckless do not disappoint – full orgy at 2:40. The song and video finishes with more decadence, only faster. Also, lots of crosses. The song/orgy ends with Momsen taking a drag off an E-Cig. Very 2014!
The next video, “Heaven Knows”, starts with a Queen-like beat and oh, there are a lot more crosses. (The cross budget for The Pretty Reckless videos must be just insane.) SPOILER ALERT: Momsen is naked at 2:15, well not exactly. She has a cross taped across and down her privates (pointing down, get it?). I hope that’s not black electrical tape. (Note: It’s paint – look at the album cover and you will see the backside of Momsen.) The video escalates with lots of God book burning and smashing really old television sets (because how else are you going to get rid of those things). In the end all the children are worshipping Momsen. Is it because of her message, or do these children really dig black electrical tape?
The new album, Going To Hell, is out and The Pretty Reckless is coming soon to a city near you. Check them out today!
