Formed in 2009, Machine Elves are an up-and-coming hard rock band, based in Brooklyn. Joey Calveri is the front man and a veteran theater performer who has been featured in several popular shows, including “Annie” and Queen’s “We Will Rock You.” He has also played the role of Stacee Jaxx in Broadway’s “Rock Of Ages.”
With a sound hard to categorize as a rock genre (they cross glam, punk, hard rock seamlessly) and more attitude to boot, Machine Elves have struck a chord with their initial 2012 release Fancy Suits and Cigarettes.
Can they bring it on stage? Yes. Dancers, guest singers, and even crowd members have been known to be involved on stage. For fans of the Megaphone, expect that too. This tool is no longer the exclusive property of Scott Weiland. Check out the video for “Stripper”, a personal favorite of many. Not only do Machine Elves bring a sleazy energy with their brand of rock and roll, they enhance it with strippers. Job well done!
The band is expected to release a follow-up album in 2014. Until then check out the band on YouTube and download Fancy Suits and Cigarettes today!
