Goth Culture on Ice II in New Haven (Photos)

So as we are all stuck inside with Storm Nemo (or Charlotte—I can’t quite figure out why it has two names), what better time to talk about a really cool (literally) winter event coming up next weekend! Next Saturday, February 16, Christine DeSenti and Ray Willis bring us Goth Culture on Ice II at the Ralph Walter Skate Rink in New Haven.

From the Facebook invite:

Tired of hallmark holidays telling you when to celebrate the illusion that is love? Sick of candy companies trying to trick you into thinking we don't all die alone? Spend your post Valentines malaise with us, ice skating to the music that eternally reminds us of the dark, sanguine beauty that is every day of our wretched and beautiful existence!

The skating session is from 8-10, and admission is $15. That fee includes rental skates and snacks. The after party starts at 10 around the corner at 92 Mechanic Street.

This Valentines event for the dark- (although not necessarily cold-) at-heart is in response to the success of Goth Culture on Ice held two years ago. If you went, you don’t need me to tell you what a good time it was. If you didn’t go, which unfortunately I wasn’t able to, now is your time to make up for it. I’m excited, although my ice skating skills are highly in question.

See you on the ice (and by that I mean skating as opposed to laying there, but you never know).
